This is not a valuation service. Nobody here will tell you what your coin is worth to a collector, grade it, authenticate it, or say whether to sell it. Canadian retail values are the work of the Charlton catalogue and the grading services, this site holds no licence to them, and a guess from us would be a number with nothing behind it. Why this site publishes no catalogue values. What can be answered exactly is what the Mint says a coin is made of and how much silver that works out to, and every one of those figures is already on the site.

A figure here that disagrees with the Mint
Everything on this site is meant to be traceable to the Royal Canadian Mint’s published tables, retrieved 2026-09-04. If a number here does not match what the Mint publishes, that is a parsing error on our side and the same bug is probably on several hundred pages. Send the URL and what it should say.

A citable public record that closes a gap
The largest gap is that nothing before 1908 is covered, because the Mint publishes no specification or mintage for the years Canadian coins were struck in England. An official mint return or a digitised government report would change that. A catalogue would not. What is missing and why.
Before you write
Several things that look like errors are documented decisions, including why the 10-cent coin carries no 50 per cent silver period when the 25-cent coin does. The methodology page lists every one of them, and the corrections page carries the log of what has actually been changed.
What happens to it
The message goes to one mailbox and is answered from it. What is collected and how long it is kept is in the privacy notice.
